Working Group established to revise FSC Pesticides Policy
© FSC ICAn interest-balanced working group has been established to revise the FSC Pesticides Policy. The working group comprises six stakeholders and three technical experts, who together represent both Southern and Northern perspectives of the social, environmental, and economic interests of FSC. Forest certification course in Ghana provides key lessons on the way forward in the region.
In mid-June 2016, the African Forest Forum (AFF) in partnership with the Forestry Research institute of Ghana (FORIG) and the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) organized the second short training course on Forest Certification in Accra, Ghana. The first course was aimed at the East and Southern Africa sub regions, and the second at the West and Central Africa sub regions. read more …

New book promotes FSC certification in Central Africa
© FSC AfricaA new book by conservationist and author Meindert Brouwer provides an interesting first-hand account of the realities of FSC certification in the Congo Basin as seen through the eyes of Congolese workers. “Central African Forests Forever” is Brouwer’s third book and covers themes ranging from forests to climate change and the empowerment of women.
