Sustainability forms an integral and integrated part of the Group’s corporate strategy. It works towards achieving three clear objectives across the three territories:

  • Fashion that connects people and their passion
  • Fashion that shares the benefit of enterprise; and
  • Fashion that restores our relationship with nature

Product stewardship and supply chain is a key strategic pillar within the third objective. A key focus is increasing efforts to actively manage the responsible sourcing commodities used that are made from natural and synthetic resources such as cotton and polyester. Starting with the highest volume product, cotton.

New sourcing metrics set within the 2022 financial year are:

  • 50% sustainably sourced cotton, including BCI Cotton, by FY2026 in both TFG Africa and TFG Australia, and 100% sustainably sourced fibers, including BCI cotton, by FY2026 in TFG London. All three geographies have joined the Better Cotton Initiative.
  • 100% FSC certified solid wood furniture styles by FY2026
  • 100% of Jewellery suppliers are members of Responsible Jewellery Council by FY2026

The signing of the PLA with The Forest Stewardship Council®(FSC®) shows TFG’s commitment to sustainably sourcing paper, packaging, wood, and other forest products from responsibly managed and certified forests and supporting supply chains. This process has already started with the sourcing of FSC certified paper bags in South Africa and cardboard boxes for shipping in the United Kingdom, and will continue through other product and material categories.
