Strengthening the knowledge capacity of tea farms
From May 27th to 29th, 2024, tea industry stakeholders at Brown Plantation in Kericho, Kenya, participated in FSC certification training. The three-day program equipped 13 participants with the knowledge of FSC requirements for the tea sector and how FSC certification can enhance their commitment to sustainability.
Advancing ecosystem services understanding in Tanzania
From April 25th to 27th, Tanzania held a training on the FSC Ecosystem Services Procedure. This three-day event brought together a diverse group of 20 participants, including representatives from various levels of the Tanzania Forest Service (TFS) Agency, community-based certification schemes, and the FSC sub-regional team.
The meticulously designed session aimed to enhance participants' understanding of valuing ecosystem services and the critical role of sustainable forest management. The knowledge gained is expected to have a significant impact, promoting informed and effective forest stewardship practices across Tanzania.
