Carla van Rooyen joined the team on 1 June 2016 as the Communications Manager for Africa. Prior to joining FSC, Carla worked as Communications Manager for the Endangered Wildlife Trust, one of the largest environmental organisations in southern Africa. Before joining the EWT in 2014, she worked as a consultant and project manager for a management consulting firm, completing projects for clients including the IOM, UNFPA and Nordic Business Association and developing communication materials for clients such as FIFA ahead of the World Cup. She also spent a significant portion of her career working directly with the private sector as an advocacy consultant for Fairfood International and in a corporate law firm. She holds post-graduate qualifications in law and sustainable development, and a Master's degree in sustainable development.

Carla is responsible for maximizing the impact of FSC communications for all stakeholders, and for coordinating successful and consistent communication strategies across various channels in the region.

Manushka Moodley started working with FSC Africa on 1 July 2016 as the Sub-regional coordinator for southern Africa. Prior to joining the FSC, Manushka worked as FSC Certification Auditor for the South African Bureau of Standards/ Soil Association. Before joining the SABS team in 2013, she worked as a forester for one of the largest forestry companies in South Africa.

In the role of Sub-regional coordinator, Manushka will support the development and implementation of sub-regional and national policies, standards and strategies. She will also manage relevant business affairs in the sub-region.
