FSC at WoodEX 2024

FSC® attended its third WoodEX Show from the 4 to 6 June held once again at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.

Since WoodEX teamed up with the Big 5 Construct Show 2 years back the show has grown from strength to strength.

WoodEX for Africa has been acknowledged as the foremost gateway and pivotal event for machinery, tools, forestry, and timber supplies across the Southern African continent.  This is the only exhibition in Southern Africa that brings the forestry, solid timber, furniture and construction industries under one roof, and is the largest timber trade exhibition on the continent.

The exhibition has enabled FSC to connect with current certificate holders, but to also connect with potential new certificate holders, as well as to share FSC’s mission to promote responsible management of the world's forests in an environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable manner.

FSC Southern Africa is well established in the forestry, sawmilling, pulp and paper, packaging, hygiene and charcoal sectors, but a show like WoodEX provides the opportunity to meet and discuss certification opportunities within the solid timber value chain.  Great opportunities were presented to connect with timber product producers, construction professionals, construction companies, furniture manufacturers, solid timber traders and Government Departments such as the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC).

Once again, we enjoyed the time to connect with old friends in the industry, and to develop new relationships in promoting the sustainable management of our timber resources.
