This initiative aims to awaken the young generations to the role of tropical forests and the importance of protecting them. The students were 10/11 years old from several classes of CM2 (last year of primary school in the Gabonese system).

The students could familiarize themselves with notions such as biodiversity, ecosystems, and the impacts of climate change. It was also an opportunity to introduce the concepts of sustainable management and FSC forest certification.
This environmental education session reached about a hundred students.

Given the students' enthusiasm, the FSC would like to extend the program to other schools in the greater Libreville area.

This initiative is part of the awareness and promotion program of the FSC generalization in Gabon and is partially supported financially by the Prince Albert IIof Monaco Foundation.

With this initiative, the FSC intends to remain in line with its slogan: "Preserving forests for all, forever" by raising awareness among children about responsible forest management.
