The revised FSC National Forest Stewardship Standard (NFSS) of Cameroon applies to all forest types, small and low-intensity management units and community forests.
The revision process of the NFSS of Cameroon started in 2015 and focused mainly on:
1. the adaptation to version 5 of the FSC Principles and Criteria;
2. the inclusion of indicators related to intact forest landscapes, wood tracking and other important issues.
A chamber-balanced standard development group conducted the revision of the NFSS. The revision followed a multi-stakeholder process, including virtual public consultations and a face-to-face consultation workshop. Field testing and stakeholder involvement ensured the applicability/ auditability of the revised NFSS.

The StandardDevelopment Group in Cameroon has aligned the Cameroonian NFSS with theEuropean Union Voluntary Partnership Agreement, VPA-FLEGT legalityrequirements. This was done after conducting a gap analysis with respect to thelegality grid indicators and verifiers of the VPA-FLEGT agreement document.

The revised NFSS of Cameroon (English and French versions) can be consulted in the FSC Document Center.
