“Achieving a third-party forestry certification such as FSC demonstrates to investors, customers and the general public that our operations are complying with national and international laws, adhering to environmental values and mitigating negative impacts, respect worker’s rights and employment conditions, and contributing to and enhancing the well-being of communities” said Joseph Munyarukaza, Head of CSR for New Forests Rwanda.

This is the first FSC forest management certification in Rwanda. New Forests received its first FSC certificate in 2009 and is a sustainable, socially responsible forestry and timber products business with plantations in Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania.
