Public Consultation: Development of Botswana Forest Stewardship Standard

FSC International is in the process of developing a Forest Stewardship Standard for Botswana. This is the first public consultation for the Standard with stakeholders in Botswana. These consultations will take place in Gaborone on the 20th September and in Maun on the 22nd September 2022. Starting time is  at 9am and should end at 4:30pm. 

The FSC Principles and Criteria (P&C) set out the global requirements for achieving FSC forest management certification.

However, any international standard for forest management needs to be adapted at the regional or national level in order to reflect the diverse legal, social and geographical conditions of forests in different parts of the world.
