South African FSC Certificate Holders hold events to celebrate International Day of Forests

Mpact Paper’s Felixton Mill in KwaZulu-Natal got into the spirit of  celebrating International Day of Forest. They put together a beautiful and thoughtful display with a forestry video playing and a special poster designed for the occasion with the assistance of FSC South Africa.  They ran a campaign from the 18th to the 25th of March with  various competitions and gave away 12 fruit hampers (with Mpact branded items) and  a number  of consolation runner up prizes at special prize giving with Mill Manager,  Louis van Dyk  on the 24th of March for the lucky winners.  A big thank you to  Annalie Sauer, Mill Chemist and her support team for organizing the events.

Hirt and Carter Group

Hirt and Carter Group (HCG)  is strongly aligned to environmental initiatives and sustainable development. Preservation of natural resources  especially forestry  is key to the business’s survival. As part of their support for FSC certification ,   the  HCG group fully supported  International Day of Forests.

An awareness week has been held on site to commemorate World Forestry Day.

Great Social Media Support

And a big thank you to all our other FSC Forest Management, COC and Promotional License Holders who supported our International Day for Forests Social Media Campaign. The FSC  Africa, Southern Africa and East Africa  Social Media Platforms were a  major contributor to the success of the campaign internationally. The theme was #Their Home with five videos celebrating different  forest products at home in their natural forest environments.
